Clear Creek County is located minutes from downtown Denver
and is a historical and recreational enthusiast's dream. It
follows the I-70 corridor for 47 miles, from the base at Floyd Hill, to the
mid-point of the Eisenhower Tunnel below the Continental Divide. Idaho Springs,
Georgetown, Empire and Silver Plume are situated in very narrow, breathtaking
and spectacular valleys.
Idaho
Springs has a population of 1,893 (and growing!)
and is the largest town in Clear Creek County.
Idaho
Springs is about 30 miles west of the Denver area on I-70 here you will find
breathtaking scenery of the Rockies. The highest paved road in North America
heads south of town to the top of Mount Evans, one of Colorado's tallest
mountains. Idaho Springs is also near Golden Gate State Park with stunning views
of the continental divide, and within an hour's drive of six of the state's most
famous ski resorts.
